Summer 2021 League Details:
REMINDER: Registration deadline is June 9!

Payment must be received in full by the deadline to secure a spot in the league/program of your choice!

Safe Return to Play

This group will meet current, outdoor social gathering limits.

All participants must attempt to stay 6 feet apart at all times, including before, during and after hiking.

Carpooling to locations is strongly discouraged unless from same household bubble.

As this is an outdoor activity, masks are not required, though masks are strongly encouraged if the group finds themselves in a situation where remaining 6 feet apart is challenging or not possible.

The trail leader will have hand sanitizer available. Participants are also encouraged to bring their own.

All participants are asked to bring their own water bottle and/or snacks. No sharing.

All other Safe Return to Play Guidelines must also be followed. Please read.

What to Expect

This urban trail walking series will break up your week nicely with a regular evening urban trail walk. Explore a blend of Forest City's canopied trail systems in and around the city and connected pathways. All fitness levels welcome.

Participants will be guided for approximately 60-75min of mixed terrain (hiking trails and urban pathways. Walking boots, athletic shoes or ideally hybrid cross trainers encouraged as trails will include a mix of dirt trails and paved walking paths.

We're thrilled to team up with Lara Vlach for curation and group leadership of this program. Lara successfully led many Sunday hikes for us in 2020 including our 2021 Spring Hike series. She is a seasoned outdoors person who enjoys the walks/hikes as much as discovering points of interest.

                 Trail Walking Rules

1) Like hiking, check the weather, dress appropriately, tell someone where you are going and for how long, and have some fun!

2) Recommended Equipment: Participants are required to bring their own personal equipment/gear if they should feel the need, such as poles, hat and sunglasses and a rain jacket. Proper footwear is recommended (firm soled hiker or cross training hybrid) as walks will take place on uneven ground and may include puddles and mud. We also strongly recommend bringing sunscreen and bug spray along with 1L of drinking water on every trek.
