Winter 2022 League Details:
REMEMBER: Registration Deadline for WINTER 2022 leagues is Monday, January 3rd!

Payment must be received in full by the deadline to secure a spot in the league/program of your choice!
FCSSC offers 3 ways to play:
1) Register a full team.
2) Register as an individual & we will place you on a team with other individuals.
3) Register as a small group (register as an individual & request to play with friends. We will place you & your friends on a team with other individuals or small groups).

Safe Play

All participants must comply with FCSSC's Safe Play Guidelines. Please read before registering.

ALL players under the age of 26 must review and acknowledge ROWAN'S LAW prior to registration.

Current regulations (subject to change) permit the option of 1 maskless sweeper or two masked sweepers per team. Face masks may be removed by other players when distancing is respected.

The Government of Ontario requires that all adults need to be fully vaccinated, and provide proof of vaccination along with photo ID in order to access indoor fitness and recreational facilities. Because FCSSC leagues will play in indoor recreational facilities this Winter, only fully vaccinated individuals can play in indoor leagues. Please do not register if you will not be able to meet this requirement. There will be no credits/refunds for those who cannot comply.

What to Expect

A draw, and social. Plan to spend your evening with friends. Stay for drinks and munchies in the St Thomas Curling Club (STCC) licensed lounge after the draw.

Players in this co-ed league are a mix of new and experienced players, with varying skill levels, all playing with a for-fun attitude.

Playoffs are back this season! Score reporting and standings will be kept and League Champions will be celebrated! As always, we will also present the Steam Whistle Spirit Award at the end of the season!

Week 1: A night of learning. Participants will be divided into two groups based on self-assessed experience level. Less experienced participants will receive introductory training, including rules, safety on the ice and basic technique from an STCC pro. More experienced players will receive safety reminders, tips & techniques to improve your game, also from an STCC pro.
Weeks 2-10: Round robin league play

Spirit of the League

This league is all-welcome, all-for-fun. Competitive players are encouraged to choose a different league in which to play.
Please review FCSSC's Conduct Policy before registering.

League Format Each week teams will play one draw against a new opponent for 115 mins. Should you finish early, any time left after your draw can be used for additional practice! All games are self-officiated, though FCSSC staff will be on-site at all times to protect player safety, help with the rules, and pump up the fun factor. Come dressed and ready to curl! The lounge will be open for post curling social (lounge bar open).

Number of People on Ice

Though no gender minimum is required for this sport, we do recommend at least 1 female and at least 1 male, 4 players total.

Recommended Roster Size

Recommended roster is 5. Please include any known subs on your roster in our system when you register, for ease of mandatory waiver signing. Subs are free to play.

STCC will supply rocks. Players are asked to bring their own brooms, sliders, grippers. All of this equipment is easy to source at new & used sports stores, from online retailers and online resale sites such as Facebook Marketplace or Kijiji.

*Sliders are optional.* Lots of players who are new to the sport prefer NOT to use a slider. The slider makes the ice even more slippery (a benefit when exiting the hack).

Age & Waivers All players MUST be 19 years of age or older, no exceptions.
All players MUST sign a waiver before playing, no exceptions. Signing the waiver on-line is super easy, just follow the steps during registration & checkout.

               Curling Rules

It is the responsibility of all players to read, understand and comply with the general rules & club policies as well as the sport specific rules. (Captains: please ensure all members of your roster review the following before participating):

About Spirit Points: Spirit points are awarded to a team from their opponent after each game to encourage sportsmanship, honesty, integrity and fair play.  Click for more information and how to properly award Spirit Points.

We had such a great experience at the St. Thomas Curling Club, last winter that we're going back for more fun on the sheets! (Approx 30min drive from downtown London)
