FCSSC has been a supporter of United Way since I started the club almost 10 years ago. In 2009 FCSSC was invited to contribute to the launch of GenNext, United Way’s initiative to connect the up and coming generation of young adults to our community through the experiential gift of time, talent & treasure. Since then FCSSC has donated thousands of dollars, and introduced hundreds of volunteers to United Way. We can and will do more, with your support.
1 in 5 people in London & area live in poverty. 10,000 16-29 year olds in Elgin Middlesex are Not in Employment, Education or Training (NEET). Suicide has become the 2nd leading cause of death among Canadian youth who have simply lost hope. And 1 in 5 people are now, or will experience a form of mental illness in their lifetime. These problems are #UNIGNORABLE. Our community needs our help.
United Way brings together the abundance of local financial resources, and delivers those dollars to the local agencies that are having real impact on the problems of poverty and mental illness in our community.
As United Way's 2018 Campaign Chair, I have increased my gift of both time and money this year. Please join me. Play in one of FCSSC's charity tournaments, donate to one of our in-league drives, and please, add a donation for United Way to your registration fees.
Thank you for sharing your #LOCALLOVE.
